HNLU ‘Colossus’ – literary, sports and cultural fest concludes
Raipur. ‘Colossus’ Mahotsav of HNLU, Raipur, a blend of literature, sports and culture, ended successfully yesterday. The festival provided a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy the competitive spirit, camaraderie and memorable moments. Spanning three lively days, the festival included a diverse range of literary, sporting and cultural activities.
It maintained its tradition with its energetic atmosphere, enthusiastic participants and exciting competitions.
Apart from entertainment, there was also a debate competition on the topic “Dividing Israel and Palestine is the only solution to resolve their conflict”.
This led to spirited discussions and coherent arguments. In the sports round, HNLU won in men’s volleyball and kabaddi, while other universities achieved success in other events such as BGMI, basketball, and cricket.
The evening entertainment included exciting musical performances by ‘Rahul Jain’ and DJ Swizel, and attendees enjoyed cultural activities like face painting and eating golgappas. The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony was attended by Shri Rajendra Prasad, a renowned sportsperson, Olympian and Arjuna Award recipient in boxing, who was the chief guest. Over 262 delegates from 12 states attended the event, with a record winning prize money of over Rs 3 lakh.
HNLU Vice Chancellor Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan praised the smooth organization of the event and proposed to take ‘Colossus’ to an international level in the next edition. The Chief Guest, Shri Rajendra Prasad, inspired the audience by narrating personal anecdotes and inspiring healthy routines like waking up at Brahma-Muhurta in the morning.
The event was attended by the Chief Guest, Vice President, Registrar in-charge, Dean, and faculty members who distributed awards to the winners. The Festival, once again, proved to be an extraordinary platform for the fusion of literature, sports and culture, leaving everyone with fond memories.
