Abhinav Chaudhary wins gold medal in men’s rapid-fire pistol
New Delhi: Rajasthan’s Abhinav Chaudhary has challenged Bhopal’s M.P. Won the men’s 25 meter rapid-fire pistol (RFP) title in the pistol events at the ongoing 66th National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC). State Shooting Academy Range on Sunday.
Abhinav scored 30 in the final and defeated Ankur Goyal of Uttar Pradesh, who had 26 hits. Delhi’s Arpit Goyal stood third with 21.
Abhinav had earlier qualified for the final round among the top six shooters with a score of 584 in the qualification, which was also the leading score.
In the junior men’s RFP, Vijayveer Sidhu won the gold medal with 28 hits in the final, and got the better of Paris Olympics quota winner Anish Bhanwala of Haryana, who had 25.
Punjab won gold and bronze in this event when Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu won the bronze medal by scoring 20.
However, Anish (578) along with Sameer (578) and Adarsh Singh (571) won the team event in the men’s RFP with a combined effort of 1727. Vijayveer won the junior team gold along with Rajkanwar and twin brother Udayveer.
