CG NEWS: 3 people died due to lightning

KONDAGAON: Three members of a family were injured when lightning struck during a sudden rain on Sunday afternoon in Kondagaon district. The injured were immediately admitted to Farasgaon Hospital. The condition of the injured is now said to be out of danger. The incident took place in Kokodi village of Makdi area. Rain started suddenly in Kokodi village in the afternoon. At the same time, lightning struck the Mahua tree located in front of Kushal Netam’s house. Kailash Netam (18), Asmati Netam (42) and Krishna Netam (18), who were sitting in the room in front of the house, were injured after being hit by lightning.

The injured told that when the lightning struck, all three of them were sitting in the room in front of the house. After the lightning struck the Mahua tree, all of them were hit by it. It was fortunate that they had gone inside the house from the courtyard just a little before the lightning struck, otherwise the accident could have been even more serious. After the incident, local people also reached the spot and helped in taking the injured to the hospital. There is an atmosphere of panic in the entire village due to this incident. The administration has appealed to the people to stay in safe places during the rain and take measures to avoid lightning.
