Extortion by pretending to be a journalist and officer, youth arrested

Korba: The police arrested the accused who was extorting money from people by posing as a fake mineral officer. When produced in court, he was sent to jail. Punit Dubey, a resident of Kasaniya under Katghora police station, sometimes used to pretend to be a journalist and sometimes used to handle mining cases in the area by posing as a fake mineral officer. In the name of taking action, he used to extort money from people by luring them and threatening them.

Puneet Dubey recovered Rs 10,000 by seizing the tractor of Lakhanlal Patel, a resident of Lalmatia in Katghora area. Later, after coming to know the truth about Puneet Dubey, Lakhanlal lodged a written complaint in Katghora police station. After investigating the matter, the police had registered a case against the accused Punit Dubey, after getting information about which the accused had escaped.
