Forest officer dies due to snake bite in Tamil Nadu

Erode: A forest officer died after being bitten by a snake while trying to catch it from a house in this district, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, Prashant (22), who works in the forest department’s anti-poaching squad, along with two other members of the squad tried to catch the snake that had entered Ponnusamy’s house in Shanichandai area of Bhavani taluk on Tuesday evening.

Prashant was bitten by a snake and fell down. He was immediately taken to Bhawani Government Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Bhawani police is investigating.
