Heavy collision between two-wheeler, two trans persons died

Tiruchi: Two transpersons died when their two-wheeler was hit by a lorry at Ariyamangalam on the Tiruchi-Thanjavur bypass on Saturday and the police arrested the lorry driver.

It is said, the transpersons – Dhanya (25) and Tamil (29) who lived in Ukkadai near Ariyamangalam, were on their way to Ariyamangalam.

When they were crossing Palapannai intersection, a tipper lorry coming from Karur hit their two-wheeler and Dhanya died on the spot due to severe head injuries, while Tamil, who was seriously injured, went to Tiruchi. Died after reaching GH. On information, traffic intelligence police reached the spot and registered a case against lorry driver Manimaran from Ayothipatti near Boothalur and arrested him. Further investigation is ongoing.
