Hyderabad: Case investigated as ‘woman missing’ as no evidence of crime found

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu on Friday said the Meerpet murder case is still being investigated as a ‘woman missing’ case, as no evidence of the crime has been found yet. “We are also seeking the assistance of forensic teams from other states for sample collection and analysis to link the suspect to the case. Since the case involves scientific investigation and technical analysis, it will take some more time,” he said. The Rachakonda police and the Clues team have used the Blue Star technology to work on the case.

This technology detects blood stains even after objects have been washed or rubbed. It allows detection of subtle, erased or well-washed blood marks, even at very high dilutions, with or without detergents. Though the suspect Guru Murthy confessed to killing his wife Madhavi, boiling the body and chopping it into pieces before disposing it, hours of search of the scene by the police did not yield any results. No evidence was found, and reportedly not a single trace of blood stains has been found so far. It is learnt that there are some clues and the police are planning to collect samples from the children of the couple to match them with the DNA samples from the crime scene with the help of forensic science analysis.
