Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy quits 2024 Presidential race

Washington: Indian-Origin Vivek Ramaswamy, an enterprenuer announced his withdrawal from the 2024 US presidential race after his disappointing finish at Iowa, quoted by AFP.

He then immediately endorsed former President Donald J. Trump and said he is the “best president of the 21st century.”

On Monday, Donald Trump secured a resounding victory in the first 2024 Republican presidential contest in Iowa. “THANK YOU IOWA, I LOVE YOU ALL!!!” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Ramaswamy, a 38-year-old born in Ohio to immigrant parents from Kerala, was one of the surprises of the 2024 Republican race.

Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social, called him a “fraud” and said that a vote for the Indian-American was a vote for the “other side.”

Ramaswamy turned out to be in the fourth position in the Iowa elections with around 7.7 percent of votes.
