Kerala: A KSRTC bus remained stranded on the road for two and a half hours after running out of fuel

KOZHIKODE: A KSRTC bus broke down on the road on Christmas Day after running out of fuel. The incident occurred in Karassery, Kozhikode. The KSRTC Minnal bus, which was traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Sultan Bathery, ran out of diesel. This left several passengers, including women and children, stranded on the road. In a separate incident, doctors performed emergency surgery on a young man in the middle of the road; the doctors used a blade and a straw to save the man’s life, and their quick thinking was widely praised.
The bus had departed from Thiruvananthapuram at 11 pm the previous night, and the passengers were stranded due to the driver and conductor’s negligence in refueling. The bus was scheduled to reach Sultan Bathery at 7:30 am, but it was delayed. Meanwhile, at 8 am, it ran out of diesel in Karassery and came to a halt.
Although the passengers protested, the problem could not be resolved immediately. The passengers refused to travel in other vehicles. Later, after diesel was brought from the Thiruvambady depot, the bus resumed its journey to Sultan Bathery. The bus reached its destination two and a half hours late.
