Kerala Chief Minister targets Congress

Thiruvananthapuram: Hitting out at the Congress over its debacle in the assembly elections in three states, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said the grand old party lost because of its self-centred attitude of ignoring alliance partners, which cost it . Addressing a press conference in Thrissur, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “The election results were contrary to expectations, especially in the three states where people expected the BJP to face a backlash.

The Congress took a stance against uniting with other parties in these three states. They hoped to win big by standing independently. That’s how he managed things.” Claiming that the Congress is not ready to join hands with other parties, the Kerala Chief Minister said, “In Madhya Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party has dominance in some areas. Digvijay Singh offered him seats but Kamal Nath was against it. Congress’s self-centered attitude in the assembly elections backfired.” He further said that Congress decided to keep out CPIM and other parties in Rajasthan, where it could join hands to give a tough fight to BJP.

“In Rajasthan, Congress had good chances and could have added some parties including CPI(M), but they decided to contest the elections alone. If they had fought together, there would have been a big victory in Rajasthan and a similar situation happened in Chhattisgarh also.” Kerala CM said. The Kerala Chief Minister also alleged that senior Congress leader Kamal Nath tried to become the B team of the BJP. “Kamal Nath’s attitude is the same towards people spreading communalism.

Kamal Nath tried to become the B team of BJP. The national leadership of Congress did not stop it. Secular forces should have stood together. But they are greedy for power. Objective: CM Vijayan said, “BJP should have been defeated and not come to power, Congress was selfish.” In the recent assembly elections held on December 3, Congress had to face defeat at the hands of BJP in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. However, he is set to form the government in Telangana after ousting Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from power.
