Nandini of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ is very special to me: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Mumbai (IANS) | Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will soon be seen in her upcoming film ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 2’. The actress opened up about playing the role of Nandini in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. During a media event for ‘PS: 2’, Aishwarya was asked about her special relationship with the name Nandini. Please tell that she is playing the character of a woman named Nandini in ‘PS: 2’.

Talking about her character, the actress told the media, what a coincidence. Isn’t it amazing? Nandini’s character in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ was also very memorable. She ruled the hearts of people and I am very grateful that I got the chance to play Nandini even then. She was special for the audience and definitely for me.

In ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, Aishwarya played Salman Khan’s love interest who marries the man played by Ajay Devgn under family pressure. When he learns about Nandini’s love, he sets out in search of Sameer, played by Salman.

She further said, it was Sanjay Bhansali ji and today for Mani Garu, I got to play Nandini in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. It is a great blessing that I get to play the role of such strong women who touch the lives of many. I am very, very grateful.

‘PS: 2’ is set to hit theaters on April 28.
