Political parties should nominate booth label agents and cooperate with BLOs
Aligarh. A meeting regarding electoral roll revision was held with officials of various political parties in the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Inder Vikram Singh. He said that under the election programme, the draft publication of the integrated electoral roll will be done on 27 October 2023 and the final publication on 05 January 2024. It will be available free of cost for inspection by the general public in all polling stations, voter registration offices, voter registration centers and district election offices. He informed that claims and objections will be received from October 27 to December 9. Meanwhile, various activities will be organized for voter awareness through various mediums on 06 special campaign dates – 04 November, 05 November, 25 November, 26 November, 02 December and 03 December. By being present at the concerned BLO polling center on special dates, they will receive forms to include the names of eligible citizens in the voter list on the basis of eligibility date 01.01.2024.
DEO informed that during the revision period, the claim on Form-6 prescribed for inclusion of names of all the eligible voters left in the voter list by the BLO and the form prescribed for deletion of names of deceased, double, shifted voters from entry in the voter list, Will do the work of receiving objections on 7. Along with this, work will be done to receive claims or objections on prescribed Form-8 for transfer of residence of any voter or replacement of identity card without amendment or correction in any entry in the voter list and marking him/her as a disabled person. On the dates of the special campaign, all BLOs will remain present at their polling places till the working day and receive claims or objections as mentioned above.
The DEO appealed to all the political parties to nominate Booth Level Agent (BLA) for the polling place of each Assembly Constituency as per the instructions of the Commission to ensure 100% purity of voter list and direct them to cooperate with the BLO. It has also been directed by the Commission that claim objection by any party, individual, BLA in bulk will not be submitted nor accepted in the BLO or office. BLA can provide only maximum 10 forms at a time to BLO, more than this, forms will not be accepted in bulk. Not more than 30 forms can be received by one BLA during the entire period of the campaign. The Commission is giving special emphasis to online forms so that the concerned person keeps getting information about the status of his form. Online form can be filled at http://voters.eci.gov.in. The District Magistrate said that after the distribution of previously established polling places, with the increase of 08 polling places and decrease of 02, at present there are a total of 3016 polling places in the district.
