Jalandhar: Malerkotla Police started first aid campaign

Jalandhar: The Malerkotla district police office has launched a coordinated campaign to equip all its personnel with the latest first aid skills, aimed at dealing with situations arising out of extreme weather events such as floods, forest fires, storms and heat waves. The day is observed on the second Saturday of September to raise awareness about the role of first aid.

Apart from imparting first aid training to its personnel, the office also plans to spread awareness among the general public about the need to learn basic first aid techniques, so as to improve the survival rate in cases of vehicle accidents, fire incidents and heat stroke. The campaign was formally launched by Malerkotla Senior Superintendent of Police Gagan Ajit Singh on the occasion of World First Aid Day.
