The largest cancer hospital will be built in Kanchipuram at a cost of Rs 324 crore: Minister M. Subramanian
Tamil Nadu: Health and Family Welfare Minister M. Subramanian said that India’s largest cancer hospital, being built in Kanchipuram at a cost of Rs 324 crore and with 770 beds, will open soon.
On Saturday, a ‘Nalam Kaakum Stalin’ project camp was held in Kundrathur, Chennai. Minister M. Subramanian himself visited the camp and inspected the treatment facilities.
Later, he told reporters: Under the Stalin Health Care Scheme, 1,256 camps are planned across Tamil Nadu, and 634 camps have already been held. 1,023,518 people have benefited from these camps.
Until now, these camps were held only on Saturdays. The remaining 579 camps will be held on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Full body checkups are provided free of charge at these camps. So far, 39,502 disabled persons have been issued certificates and 30,847 families have been given health insurance cards.
Cancer Hospital: The construction of a large cancer hospital near Karpettai in Kanchipuram is nearing completion. As a comprehensive solution for cancer cases, this hospital is being built at a total cost of Rs 324 crore, including Rs 218 crore for the building and Rs 106 crore for medical equipment.
The Tata Memorial Cancer Research Institute in Mumbai, which is considered India’s largest cancer research center, has 670 beds. India’s largest cancer treatment center, with 770 beds, is being built in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, and named after Anna. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said that he will inaugurate it soon.
Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Somasundaram, along with several officials and members of the public, were also present at the event.
