Tamil Nadu: V.R. Krishnakumar arrested for threatening a woman

Tamil Nadu: Police have arrested a YouTuber for allegedly threatening a woman in the Thyagaraya Nagar area of Chennai. The accused, identified as V.R. Krishnakumar, alias Varahi, reportedly ran his office from a rented house in the area.
According to reports, a dispute arose between Krishnakumar and the woman’s landlord. As the dispute escalated, the woman asked the accused to vacate the house. It is alleged that Krishnakumar became enraged and threatened and abused her.
Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint at the Pandiya Bazaar police station. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and began an investigation. After preliminary investigations found the allegations to be true, the police arrested Krishnakumar.
According to police officials, this case is not limited to threats; the accused also has several criminal cases registered against him. It is reported that Krishnakumar has a total of 15 pending cases against him, indicating his criminal background.
The accused had previously been arrested in this case, and was granted interim bail for three months. However, the court had directed him to surrender on the scheduled date. According to the court order, he was supposed to surrender on March 30th, but he did not do so.
Taking this disregard of court orders seriously, the police resumed their investigation. Subsequently, on Friday, a police team arrested Krishnakumar. After his arrest, he was produced in court, where he was sent to jail in judicial custody.
The police say that the law will be strictly enforced in such cases, and no one will be considered above the law. Furthermore, they prioritize women’s safety and take prompt action in such cases.
Locals say that the incident created a tense atmosphere in the area for some time, but the situation was brought under control due to the prompt action of the police. The police are now investigating the matter further and reviewing the pending cases against the accused.
This case once again demonstrates how personal disputes can escalate into serious issues, necessitating timely legal intervention. Police have urged citizens to immediately report any threats or harassment so that timely action can be taken.
