Tamil Nadu Mahila Congress president removed

Tamil Nadu: Haseena Syed, President of the Mahila Congress, was removed from her post on Friday.
Tamil Nadu Mahila Congress leader Haseena Syed, a supporter of P. Chidambaram, had been demanding the opportunity to contest elections from Velachery and Mayiladuthurai, but she was denied this opportunity. Consequently, Mahila Congress executives recently protested at Satyamurti Bhavan in Chennai. Senior leaders intervened, calmed them down, and sent them away.
Meanwhile, All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba issued a statement, saying, “Hasina Syed has been removed for engaging in anti-party activities.” Following this, Haseena Syed wrote a letter, mentioning Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Alka Lamba, and several others, stating that she was leaving the party.
It states: Condemning the humiliation meted out to me in the seat quota for the 2026 Assembly elections, I am sadly resigning from the party I have long loved. The reason for this resignation is that despite the trust of the Central Congress Election Committee and the high-ranking leadership, I was not given a chance to contest the Assembly elections. The dream of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi of 33 percent reservation for women has remained mere empty words. Haseena Syed has said that I, along with many other capable women of the Tamil Nadu Mahila Congress, have been ignored without being given a single ticket to contest the Assembly elections.
