Russia claims it shot down 250 Ukrainian drones, 12 of which were aimed at Moscow

Moscow: Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday that Russian air defenses have shot down 250 drones in the past day, including 12 drones targeting the Moscow area overnight.
The ministry said air defenses also shot down a guided aerial bomb and a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft.
The Russian military also attacked Ukrainian energy facilities, ammunition depots, drone assembly sites, as well as 154 temporary deployment sites of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries.
The Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday released a flight map and video footage showing the wreckage of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) used in an attempted attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s official residence.
At a regular briefing, the ministry showed footage of the intercepted drones, showing black UAV fragments, wooden structural parts, and red electrical wiring scattered in the snow at the interception sites.
According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, the ministry also released a detailed flight map tracing the drones’ routes. According to the map, the UAVs were launched from the Sumy and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine, some of which flew over the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Tver regions of Russia before being destroyed.
The map shows that some drones flew almost directly east, while others took a longer route, passing through the Bryansk and Smolensk regions, near the Russia-Belarus border, and later near the border between the Tver and Pskov regions.
The ministry said that the interception points marked on the map indicate that the drones were shot down over the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Novgorod regions. The ministry further said that the attempted attack took place on Sunday and Monday night, resulting in no casualties, and no damage to Russian territory or the presidential residence.
