Deputy CM presents special equipment to 2,600 athletes

Tamil Nadu: Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Monday (March 9) distributed special equipment to 2,600 athletes residing and training at the Government Sports Development Hostels.
The Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority organized a training program on the use of the Athlete Management Program at the Kalaivana Arena in Chennai. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who attended the program, distributed assistive devices and smartwatches to students residing and training at the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority hostels, laptops to 210 trainers, and computers to 41 sports hostels. Additionally, the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority distributed Champion Kit Boxes worth ₹7.1 million (approximately $7.1 million) to 2,600 athletes, including bags for male and female students, thermos flasks, hot and cold bags, handgrip training equipment, training straps, and skipping ropes.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister also distributed smartwatches worth ₹20.1 million (approximately $2.01 million) to 950 new admissions to the sports hostels this year. He also distributed sports science equipment worth ₹39.59 lakh to 2,600 athletes training at 41 hostels of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority.
The event was also attended by Satyapratha Sagu, Secretary, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department, and J. Meghanath Reddy, Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority.
